Our trip to Big Tree Plantation has been canceled

Ladies,

With much deliberation I have decided to cancel our trip to Big Tree Plantation. I was so excited, but the weather is now calling for a high of 24 and low of 14 with snow flurries and wind! I don’t know about you, but I would really like to keep my little ones well, especially with Christmas only weeks away. I hope you will have a wonderful Christmas! Stay warm!

Sincerely,

lauren

Just A Word From Lauren-

Websites:
www.cwfa.org (Concerned Women for America)
http://OH.cwfa.org (Ohio/Concerned Women for America)
director@ohio.cwfa.org - Bobbi Radeck's email

Today we heard from Bobbi Radeck with Concerned Women for America. She discussed the importance of being informed and taking action for what we believe. She encouraged us to not only vote, but to know who we are voting for and what they stand for, Democrat or Republican, it doesn't seem to matter anymore. Our country was founded on Christian values and I firmly believe that we will be blessed for standing up for what we believe is not only right, but expected by our Father.
I mentioned at the start of our meeting that there was a king who did just such a thing in the Bible; the great grandson of King Solomon. Solomon's marriage to many foreign women brought in many foreign and pagan gods. After his death, his son continued in these practices which then were passed on to his son. They didn't stand up for what they knew was right for their country. One of the kings even caused a split, dividing Israel in two! The two regions found themselves at war with each other and with others. They were in chaos and unrest. It was when Solomon's great grandson, King Asa came to power in Judah (the southern region of Israel) that things changed. In 2 Chronicles 14:2 it says, "Asa did good and right in the sight of the Lord his God." Verses three and four tell us that "he removed the foreign alters...and commanded Judah [his country] to seek the Lord God of their fathers and to observe the law and the commandment." Finally, in verse seven King Asa says to his people, "The land is still ours because we have sought the Lord our God; we have sought Him, and He has given us rest on every side." The verse ends with "So they built and prospered."
I encourage you all to pray for our leaders that they will remove whatever "alters" they are putting in place and will turn to the Lord. As moms, let's pray that our children will have the honor of living in a country that is written in history as one that has turned to the Lord and is at rest. Our God is gracious and forgiving.
I hope you all enjoy your October. We will see you November 5 for Mission Meal Time!
Lauren

* 1 cup white sugar
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
* 1/2 cup margarine, melted

Our Theme For Mops 2009-2010

Don't you find that when you become a mom, all your relationships change? It's like you've landed on a different planet - Planet Mom - and the relationships on Planet Mom don't look like the ones on your previous, pre-children planet. Your relationship with yourself is different - well, you're a mom now! Your relationship with your husband, girlfriends, extended family, community and God have all changed. Many of these changes are positive, but some are not. Even positive change requires some adjustments on your part.

During the 2009 - 2010 MOPS year, we will explore how to thrive in relationships Together on Planet Mom.

What is Mops?

MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers. MOPS International exists to meet the needs of every mom - urban, suburban and rural moms, stay-at-home and working moms, teen, single and married moms - moms with different lifestyles who all share a similar desire to be the very best moms they can be! MOPS recognizes that the years from infancy through kindergarten are foundational in a mother-child relationship and are filled with unique needs.

MOPS helps moms through relationships established in the context of local groups that provide a caring atmosphere for today's mother of young children. MOPS also encourages and supports moms through resources such as books, this website and the MOPS International Membership.
